Paula is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS). She works with adults and offers an integrative, evidence-based approach tailored to each client's individual needs.
Paula sees therapy as a collaborative and trusting relationship, with a strong emphasis on psychological depth, discretion and personalised treatment. She regards building a safe therapeutic relationship as the foundation for effective therapy, and her work is bespoke rather than one-size-fits-all. As an integrative therapist she draws on a range of models depending on the client and the difficulty, skilled in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Transactional Analysis, mindfulness-based and solution-focused approaches.
She has held a number of senior clinical roles within the NHS, in private rehabilitation settings and as therapeutic lead in a wellbeing clinic. Paula has particular expertise in complex mental health presentations, trauma, addiction, personality disorders and abuse, and is experienced in high-risk and highly sensitive cases, including paraphilic disorders and other complex behavioural presentations. All of her work is supervised in line with ethical requirements, and all client information is held in strict confidence.
