About Lisa Alexander mbacp
Counsellor & Psychotherapist
Hello
Hello, I'm Lisa and I am an experienced Person-centred Counsellor/Psychotherapist and a registered full member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have experience working in a community based service providing counselling to vulnerable people with complex emotional needs plus working at a local university providing counselling to both staff and students. I also have experience of assessing patients for mental health interventions within the NHS.
Some of my special interests include stress, anxiety, self doubt and the affects of social media on young people.
I am passionate about the well being of all people and feel that everyone deserves to live their life to the full.
What can I offer you?
Sometimes life or life experiences can prevent us from living the way we want or can affect our sense of who we are. Battling with mental health issues is a lonely and isolating experience, as a Person-centred therapist I can offer you a safe and genuine environment to feel accepted and better understand your feelings.
How can I help you?
I aim to understand what it feels like to be you.
Whether you are experiencing a lack of self-esteem, struggling with anxiety or at a point in your life where you feel you have nowhere else to turn. I will explore your thoughts and feelings with you whilst offering you empathy to feel valued and heard. In the hope to allow you to utilise your own strengths and personal identity.
Even if you are not sure why you feel the way you do right now, providing you with a safe and secure environment to share your thoughts can help you to find clarity and an increased self-awareness.
